Paver Sealing in
Gloucester County, NJ

Paver Sealing in Gloucester County, NJ
(Patios, Walkways & Outdoor Living Areas)

Most homeowners think the problem with their patio is cosmetic. The pavers look dirty, maybe a little dull, so they figure a good cleaning will sort it out. But when you look closer at what’s actually going on, the real issue is usually in the joints. Worn joint material is one of the most common reasons pavers start to shift, gaps open up between stones, weeds push through repeatedly, and water finds a path underneath the base. Once the base is compromised, no amount of surface cleaning puts things right.

That’s where our paver sealing service comes in. At Riptide Pressure Washing, we treat pavers as a structural surface, not just something to clean. We offer two service paths for homeowners in Gloucester County and throughout South Jersey. If you only need the surface cleaned, we can handle that. If the joints are failing, we remove the old material, install new polymeric sand, and optionally apply a protective sealant. Either way, we start with an honest assessment of what your patio actually needs.

If you’re not sure which path your patio needs, let’s take a look. We’ll give you a clear recommendation and straightforward pricing so you can make the right call for your home.

Transparent Pricing & Cost Breakdown for Paver Sealing in Gloucester County

What Affects the Cost?

Final pricing depends on a few key factors:

  • Scope of service: Basic cleaning is different from our full sealing system, which includes joint removal and new polymeric sand installation.
  • Size & layout: Larger patios, tight corners, steps, and multiple sections require more time and detail work.
  • Joint condition: Heavy buildup of old sand or failing sealant takes longer to remove properly.
  • Organic growth: Moss, algae, and weeds require additional pre-treatment before cleaning.
  • Optional sealant: A full surface topcoat adds protection but also adds material and labor.
  • Site access & water supply: Clear work areas help keep labor efficient. Hauled water or limited flow rates can affect pricing.

Special Offers & Discounts

We periodically run promotions. One current seasonal push is 10% to 15% off when customers get on our schedule before the end of March to build the spring rush.

We have also run community-style promotions where residents in select communities can receive 20% off if they inquire before the end of the month.

Bundle-style offers we have used include:

  • Get a house wash, and you’ll get a patio wash for free.
  • 200 square feet of concrete washing for free with a house wash.
  • 15% off your deck wash with a house wash.

When bundling, we often price services as add-ons lower than standalone visits. Paver sealing is positioned as a premium upgrade within a larger exterior cleaning plan, not a discounted add-on.

What to Expect

  • Most sealing projects take two days
    • Day 1: Prep and cleaning
    • Day 2: Sand installation and optional sealing
  • Smaller projects can often be quoted online.
  • Larger or more complex patios may receive an in-person estimate.
  • Quotes are sent by text and email, with clear scope and scheduling updates.

What Surfaces & Materials
Can We Seal?

Brick Paver

Brick Pavers

We seal brick pavers using a process that goes beyond basic cleaning. Standard service includes pre-treatment, surface cleaning, and rinsing, often using sodium hypochlorite to eliminate organic growth. For full sealing, we clear the joints, allow the surface to dry, install polymeric sand, and activate it so it locks the pavers firmly in place. A topical sealant can also be applied upon request. Unlike flatwork cleaning, this process focuses on long-term joint stability, not just surface appearance.

Natural Stone Paver

Stone Pavers

We also seal stone pavers. The key decision is whether you want the joints disturbed. If not, we keep it to a standard pre-treatment, surface cleaning, and rinse. If you’re looking for longer-term stability, we perform the full sealing system, including joint removal and polymeric sand installation. Sealing typically lasts a few years, depending on the condition of the pavers, and older patios that have already settled often respond more predictably to re-sanding and activation.

Our Proven Two-Day
Paver Cleaning & Sealing Process

Fast, Professional Estimating (Online or In-Person When Needed)

Many paver projects can be estimated by looking up the property online and measuring the area. We send the quote through Jobber by text and email, then follow up with a call to review the scope and answer questions. Larger or more complex layouts may receive an in-person quote. Before scheduling, we clarify whether you want basic cleaning or the full sealing system so expectations are aligned.

1

Homeowner Prep: Clear the Paver Area Before We Arrive

We ask homeowners to remove furniture, décor, planters, grills, and other items from the patio or walkway. Clearing the area helps us move efficiently and reach every section evenly. Excessive clutter can add significant time and slow down the work.

2

Day 1 Cleaning: Pre-Treat to Loosen Organic Growth

On day one, we apply a sodium hypochlorite pre-treatment to loosen and kill organic growth. Pre-treatment allows the mechanical cleaning step to work more effectively. We protect surrounding landscaping by thoroughly wetting and rinsing plants as part of our process.

3

Day 1 Joint Excavation During Rinsing (Turbo Nozzle)

During rinsing, we use a turbo nozzle or similar tool to remove sand and failing sealant from between the joints. Clearing the joints is necessary so new joint material can bond and lock properly. If you do not want the joints disturbed, we perform normal cleaning and skip this step.

4

Day 2 Drying + Joint Rebuild With Polymeric Sand (Optional Topcoat Sealant)

We return after the pavers have dried. We install polymeric sand between the joints and make sure they are filled and tightened properly. We then wet and activate the sand so it expands and locks into place. After activation, we check joint integrity. If requested, we can apply a topical sealant over the entire paver surface. The total labor may only be a few hours, but it is split across two visits to improve results.

We do not publish a fixed-year warranty term for sealing at this time. We encourage customers to ask process questions before scheduling so expectations are clear from the start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Paver sealing should last a couple of years, but it depends on the condition and integrity of your pavers. Older patios that have already settled can respond more predictably to re-sanding and activation.

Paver cleaning focuses on pre-treating and surface cleaning without rebuilding the joints. The full sealing system includes clearing out the joints, installing polymeric sand, activating it with water so it expands and locks, and optionally applying a sealant over the surface.

Right now, it is typically a two-day procedure because we want the pavers to dry before installing polymeric sand. Day one is cleaning and joint prep, and day two is sanding and activation.

We commonly use sodium hypochlorite as a pre-treatment to loosen and kill organic growth. We protect landscaping by thoroughly wetting and rinsing surrounding areas during the process.

Yes. Clearing the area allows us to clean evenly and work efficiently. Leaving items in place can add time and slow the job.

If the joints do not settle right and you notice it after a couple of months, call us and we will come back to address it as part of our 100% satisfaction approach.

We typically connect to your water supply because our equipment requires consistent flow. The cost is usually minimal compared to hauling water. If you require us to use only our water, it becomes an upcharge.

Yes. We have sealed both brick pavers and stone pavers, using joint clearing, polymeric sand installation, and optional surface sealing based on your goals.
